Winter viruses have definitely arrived, we are seeing many patients get in touch about cough, cold and vomiting symptoms. In turn, we are seeing sickness absence impacting our staffing.

We know it can be disappointing if an appointment is moved or we need to turn off the prioryCARE form as we are overwhelmed with urgent requests. We need to ensure the safe running of the practice and safe and high quality care for our patients.

We are experiencing sickness across all teams this week, reception, patient central and clinical teams (GPs and nursing team) which is putting pressure on some of our services. Please be patient with us, we are doing our very best to provide care for as many patients as we can.

NHS111 are available 24/7 if you struggle to get in touch with us regarding an urgent issue.

To see any changes to opening hours or site closures, please always check our news page.

Our Surgeries

We have nine sites across the city of York, see the homepage for our practice boundary/map.

Cherry Street surgery (Clementhorpe) has currently suspended services, patients who live near this surgery are able to use any other nearby surgery site. Please do not drop samples or prescriptions at Cherry Street.

You can call 01904 404100 to speak with our Patient Central team who will direct your call appropriately. Our phone lines are open 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. See our specific site pages for opening times of the surgeries.

From 2nd June 2025 our lunchtime closure will be extended - we will be closed over lunchtime between 12:15 and 13:00pm. Patients are still able to use the prioryCARE form and call our Patient Central team during this time on 01904 404100 - see our News Page for more information.

There may also be short notice changes to the opening times of some of the smaller site receptions due to staff illness, but we will always ensure our patients have access to a reception team nearby. We will update the website News Page and Facebook page with any short-notice alterations.

Safe Surgery

PMG is a Safe Surgery - this is any GP practice which commits to taking steps to tackle the barriers faced by many migrants in accessing healthcare. At a minimum, this means declaring your practice a ‘Safe Surgery’ for everyone and ensuring that lack of ID or proof of address, immigration status or language are not barriers to patient registration. For more information visit this website or see the poster here.
