Winter viruses have definitely arrived, we are seeing many patients get in touch about cough, cold and vomiting symptoms. In turn, we are seeing sickness absence impacting our staffing.

We know it can be disappointing if an appointment is moved or we need to turn off the prioryCARE form as we are overwhelmed with urgent requests. We need to ensure the safe running of the practice and safe and high quality care for our patients.

We are experiencing sickness across all teams this week, reception, patient central and clinical teams (GPs and nursing team) which is putting pressure on some of our services. Please be patient with us, we are doing our very best to provide care for as many patients as we can.

NHS111 are available 24/7 if you struggle to get in touch with us regarding an urgent issue.

Changes to prioryCARE form

Repeat Medications using the prioryCARE form

We want to let you know about some important updates to how we manage prescriptions at Priory Medical Group. These changes come in to effect on 20th October 2025 are designed to make things safer, simpler, and easier for you. We have discussed this with our Patient Participation Group (PPG) ahead of the change.

  • Requesting repeat prescriptions: Please use the NHS App, SystmOne Online, or ask our front-of-house team for help. We can no longer take repeat requests through the prioryCARE form or over the phone (unless this is already in place for you due to extenuating circumstances).
  • Keeping you informed: Our team will let you know what’s happening with your prescription at every step. You’ll always know when to expect it and if anything needs extra attention.
  • Extra care for those who need it: Patients who need extra support or have safeguarding concerns will be prioritised and handled with extra care and attention.
  • Safe and careful review: Our Prescription Administration Team, Clinical Pharmacists, and GPs work together to make sure your medications are safe and correct.

What you need to do:
  • Submit your repeat prescription requests using the NHS App or SystmOne Online, or ask our staff at reception for help (you can still use the prescription boxes in all our surgery sites). If you need help with accessing these options please, see the Online Services page or do get in touch via the telephone or at the surgery.
  • If you experience side effects or need a new medication, follow the instructions in the prioryCARE form so your request reaches the right clinician. You will still be able to use the online form to request a medication review or let us know about a problem with your medication or prescription.
  • If you would like to arrange proxy access i.e. access medical record of a child or someone you care for, read about this process on our Online Services page here.
  • Keep your contact information up to date so we can get in touch with any updates.

We know change can feel confusing, but our team is here to help every step of the way. If you need guidance, have questions, or want help with the changes, please get in touch. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us make our service safer and easier for everyone.
