As we head in to the summer months, it’s a useful time to highlight that we cannot help with medical issues if you are on holiday abroad. Remember to pack sun cream and a good first aid kit when travelling. Pharmacies in Europe can often help with minor illness such as ear ache or insect bites. In the event that you need medical assistance while on holiday, you should seek a local service and inform your insurance company as appropriate. We recommend you have adequate travel insurance. If you are travelling to a country in the Europe Economic Area (EEA), you can apply for a free UK Global Health Insurance Card (EHIC) which may give you access to free or reduced cost medical treatment.
