Important information for all patients
Our clinical records system has been in place for many years and no longer fully meets the needs of the Practice or our patients. We are installing SystmOne, a state of the art clinical records system that has many benefits for staff and patients. The new system should be installed by mid October 2011.
Setting up and training staff in the new system will take some time but will bring lots of benefits for our patients including:
Text messaging of appointment reminders
Text messaging of Test Results
On-line ordering of repeat prescriptions.
We will need your help in September and October 2011 while we make the changes:
Please let us know your current personal mobile phone number. We can then text you appointment reminders and test results if you wish (please note that mobile phones which are shared or used by the whole household are not suitable for this service). If you don’t want text reminders please let us know.
Please try to order Repeat Prescriptions early. If you are due to order a repeat prescription between September 25th and October 10th the team at PMG may decide to issue a larger quantity or even provide 2 prescriptions to cover the period when the systems change over
We will be rescheduling some of our specialist clinics such as those for patients with diabetes and COPD to avoid the week when systems change. You may be asked to call for an appointment after October 10th
If you use our online appointment booking service via our website, you will be given a new login ID when we switch systems. Your password will remain the same.
You can keep up to date on the system change via our website – www.priorymedical.com or via our pages on Facebook and Twitter. In the meantime thank you for your consideration and patience during this changeover period.
Prescribing Changes
Guidance from NHS North Yorkshire and York (The PCT) has encouraged the prescribing of medication quantities equivalent to one month with some flexibility depending on individual circumstances.
Monthly prescribing minimises waste and cost to the NHS prescribing budget, this is particularly important when changing clinical circumstances require adjustments to your medication.
Priory Medical Group has agreed to follow PCT policy to minimise waste. It is estimated that only 5% of items incur a prescription charge payable by the patient.
As prescription reviews take place the quantity of medication issued will be altered to a 28 day supply.
If you pay for your prescriptions please let your GP know.
