Urgent Care Appointment

All Priory Medical Group surgeries are now operating an Urgent Care appointment system. The aim is to offer you greater choice over when you are seen and to ensure that you are seeing the most appropriate clinician for your problem or treatment.

What's changing?

Appropriate Care

When you phone or call in for an appointment the Receptionist will ask you the nature of your problem. This is not meant to be intrusive but to make sure you see a clinician who specialises in or can deal with your issue. Of course, some issues are personal and we perfectly understand if you do not wish to divulge these to the Receptionist.

Telephone Advice

From recent patient surveys we have discovered that many of you are simply looking for advice over the phone from a doctor or nurse rather than coming in for an appointment. The Receptionist will now offer you this choice where appropriate. If you want telephone advice you will be advised when a clinician will call you, usually in a 20 minute timeframe.

Convenient Appointments

If an appointment is required our Receptionist will ask you when you would like to come in. We cannot promise we will always be able to give you your first choice of date and time but we will try our best. We hope you will understand that issues we regard as clinically urgent will be given priority over short notice and same day appointment.

How do we know when we have got it right?

We really hope that you will tell us. Your feedback to the system is essential in shaping our service to you. All surgeries have either specific urgent care feedback forms or general comments forms available. Please take a few moments to complete one and pop it in the feedback box in the waiting room. All feedback is anonymous unless you wish to give your details or discuss the trial in person with our staff.

Please don’t be shy, your opinion is the most valuable assessment of the service we offer. If you think we got it right please say so, if we didn’t please tell us why.

We’re a pretty friendly bunch and we won’t take offence is you think we should make changes or if the new system doesn’t quite meet your expectation.
